In spite of a withdrawal marked the manufacturing in Quebec, the forest industry registers some points on the subject of the number of the employments. The graph at the right illustrates the trajectory of the driving heavy industries, from 2004 till 2007, according to the distribution of the employments of the primary and manufacture sectors.
The graph reveals a significant drop of the industrial employment in the farm-produce industry and that of the not classified productions. In both cases, the primary sector records a weak earning. The complex and the textile industries also know a significant drop of the industrial employment. The mining industry remained stable. Only the forest industry registers an earning during the same period, although modest.
Only some of the administrative regions among which Monteregie, Laval and Montreal, benefit from an increase of the industrial employment. This last one has she only show a lightning progress of 230 %. For its share, the region of Estrie is the one who accuses the biggest loss; one a decrease of more than 2 000 employments.
In 2007, The region of Montreal raised itself on the first rank as for the number of employments which it groups together in the manufacturing of the forest industry. The same honors as for the employment of the primary sector, return to Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean.
