The ecosystem-based management of boreal forest in Quebec

The ecosystem-based management concept is relatively recent in Quebec. Its gradual setting-up joins in the renewal of the forest practices to answer more adequately the ecological concerns inherent to the concept of sustainable forest development, which contains legal fondations in the law on forests.

The occupation of forest land in Quebec and the constitution of forest management corporations
In June, 2008, a working document on the occupation of the Quebecois forested territory and the constitution of the societies of organization of forests is put down in the National Assembly. The document integrates several concerns :
* The adoption of a strategy of durable organization of forests;
* The revision of the demarcation of the forests of the state administered property;
* The establishment of the forest possibility according to new arrangements contributing more to the durable organization of forests;
* The delegation of management to actors of the regional middle;
* The constitution of regional societies (agencies) of organization of the forests of the state administered property;
* The termination of the contracts of supply and forested organization and the granting of guarantees of wooden supply to the manufacturers;
* The creation of an office of wood marketing from the public forests;
